It works with most PDF files. It will not further compress well-optimized comrpessed files and might create bigger files than the originals, For some files it will create larger files than the originals. This can happen in particular when a PDF file contains other optomizations than image compression.
First,a good news: You can try another filter for a smaller size at the expense of quality. The year being , it is now quite easy to send large files through the internet using Dropbox, yousendit. Hi Allison, thanks for the tutorial. Some remarks that might help others. I have OS X After I disabled it following these instructions: I have a logo file that when I reduce the size and quality and do the save as feature and lower the quality, it says the file size should be 5 kb…when I look at it in finder its 20kb…any thoughts?
I need it 10kb. But I would have thought it would be a power of 2….
If you combine two or three PDF files together using preview, you can also end up with a bloated PDF file. The best way to reduce PDF file size is with Acrobat.
